::what is a Stick®
A Stick is a two-handed stereo output tapping instrument that has both guitar and bass strings.
It is worn vertically across your torso from shoulder to hip allowing your fingers to align parallel to the frets as you play bass with one hand and melody with the other.
It embodies elements of bass, guitar, keyboards and percussion in a sleek all-neck touchboard® instrument.

::history
Emmett Chapman developed the Stick in the early 70's. Emmett had developed the tapping technique first, on his standard guitars and built the first Stick prototype while he was playing in LA, to address the range and flexibility he wanted to achieve. His first production run of the Stick was in 1974, the same year Stick Enterprises was founded to manufacture and distribute the instrument. Since the first 10 string Stick in 74, Emmett has developed an 8 and 12 string model as well as an 8 string NS/Stick from a collaboration with Ned Steinberger.
